BYD Atto 3 Receives Upgrades for 2024 Model Year

The BYD Atto 3, an electric crossover, has undergone significant upgrades for its 2024 model year in Thailand. The latest variant, showcased at the 2024 Bangkok International Motor Show, boasts improved charging capabilities, extended range, and enhanced features.

One of the notable upgrades is the enhancement in charging capabilities for both the Standard Range and Extended Range variants. The Extended Range variant, equipped with a 60.48 kWh battery, now supports DC charging up to 88 kW, up from 80 kW, while AC charging remains at 7 kW. Similarly, the Standard Range variant, featuring a 50.25 kWh battery, now supports DC charging of up to 70 kW, maintaining the 7 kW AC charging capability.

Performance-wise, both variants offer impressive battery ranges. The Standard Range variant promises up to 410 km (NEDC), while the Extended Range variant extends the range to 480 km (NEDC). Both variants are powered by a single motor driving the front wheels, producing 204 PS and 310 Nm of torque, with a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 7.3 seconds.

In addition to charging and performance upgrades, the 2024 model year introduces several new features. The daytime running lights now automatically switch off when the transmission is in Park, and the vehicle starts when the brake pedal is depressed, replacing the push-button start method.

The pricing for the BYD Atto 3 variants starts from 899,900 baht (RM116,803) for the Standard Range Dynamic, goes up to 949,900 baht (RM123,293) for the Standard Range Premium, and peaks at 1,049,900 baht (RM136,273) for the Extended Range Premium.

Externally, the 2024 model year sees updates such as black-finished D-pillar exterior trim, redesigned 18-inch wheels for the Extended Range variant, and wider Continental tires (235/50) for both variants. Additionally, the rear of the vehicle now features a simplified BYD logo, replacing the previous ‘Build Your Dreams’ script, and introduces a new exterior color, Quantum Black.

With these upgrades, the BYD Atto 3 aims to offer enhanced performance, increased convenience, and a refreshed aesthetic for electric vehicle enthusiasts in Thailand.

The reception of the 2024 BYD Atto 3 at the Bangkok International Motor Show has been met with anticipation and excitement from electric vehicle enthusiasts and potential buyers alike. The improvements in charging capabilities and range, coupled with the sleek design updates and added convenience features, position the Atto 3 as a compelling option in the rapidly evolving electric vehicle market.

The increased emphasis on charging efficiency addresses one of the key concerns for electric vehicle users – the availability and speed of charging infrastructure. With faster DC charging capabilities, drivers can spend less time waiting to recharge their vehicles, making electric vehicles more practical for everyday use.

Furthermore, the extended range offered by the Atto 3 variants provides drivers with greater flexibility and peace of mind, allowing for longer journeys without the need for frequent recharging. This is especially significant in regions like Thailand, where long-distance travel is common.

The introduction of new features such as automatic daytime running light control and brake pedal start further enhances the user experience, adding convenience and modernizing the vehicle’s interface.

Overall, the 2024 BYD Atto 3 represents a significant step forward in the evolution of electric vehicles, showcasing BYD’s commitment to innovation and sustainability. As electric vehicles continue to gain popularity worldwide, the Atto 3 stands out as a compelling option for drivers seeking performance, efficiency, and advanced features in their next vehicle. Read More
